WeLaR holds webinar on interplay of demographics, education, and technology on 28 November

We are pleased to announce that WeLaR will host the webinar “The Interplay of Demographics, Education, and Technology in Shaping Economic Progress” on 28 November, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm CET. The webinar, organised by the Institute for Structural Research (IBS), will bring together leading experts to explore how changes in these areas are influencing economic growth across the world.

The event will feature presentations by:

Cäcilia Lipowski, ifo Institute: “No Teens, No Tech: How Shortages of Young Workers Hinder Firm Technology Investments”

Guido Neidhöfer, Turkish-German University in Istanbul, ZEW: “Intergenerational Mobility of Education in Europe: Geographical Patterns, Cohort-Linked Measures, and the Innovation Nexus” (co-authors Sarah McNamara, ZEW, and Patrick Lehnert, University of Zurich)

Julian Vedeler Johnsen, University of Bergen: “Automation and Immigration”

Piotr Lewandowski, IBS, IZA, RWI: “Automation and Educational Choice” (co-author Karol Madoń, IBS)

Each presentation will be followed by a short discussion.
