The WeLaR workshop, “Welfare States and Public Finance – Adapting Welfare States to New Challenges while Ensuring their Long-Run Financial Sustainability”, will take place on 24 October at ZEW in Mannheim.
Organised by Holger Stichnoth of ZEW, the event will address the challenges posed by megatrends to welfare states and public finance. Topics include, but are not limited to, managing ageing populations, automation, and new forms of work through social security systems and pension plans, as well as the fiscal and distributional impacts of climate policy and migration.
