This work package will build on the findings of work packages 3, 4, and 5 and aim to identify how the four megatrends affect welfare states and public finances, and how they relate to changes in social security contributions, tax revenues and social security systems.
New forms of social security, such as pan-European personal pensions, will be examined, as well as the fiscal and distributional implications of climate policy, and the fiscal impact of migration. Partners will also analyse how social security systems are adapting to digitalisation and new forms of employment.
The package will include a paper with policy recommendations to support public finances and increase the efficiency of the welfare state.
